Watering Galore! - Premier Inn car park site Update, 07/07/13
Super afternoon watering plants (avoiding the heat of the midday sun!) and harvesting broad beans, peas, rocket, chives and planting up Lauren's salad plugs from the selling of Transiton Press. We all had lovely raw snacks of curly kale and broad beans mostly. We topped up the water butts - and the PI managers were most helpful when a guest parked their car on the hose!! :0)))
There is life in the wormery - 'but not as we know it' ..... but the blackbird was delighted and hovered around to collect scraps. So we are still composting in there even without the visible presence of worms! :0)
The thin blades of grass otherwise known as leek seedlings were weeded - and we must have poured about 10 pints of worm wee (diluted into four watering cans) on the beds.
The raspberries are thriving at the Royal Free, along with blackcurrants, some of the strawberries, Kathi's hazel and crab apple and the pear tree is doing well. The rhubarb is over.
