Brixton Energy Share Offer
This pioneering project is laying the ground for future similar schemes around London, and is well worth keeping an eye on.
Brixton Energy is launching the first inner city solar power project on the roof of the Loughborough Estate in Brixton, to generate clean, green energy for one of the most economically deprived areas in the UK. The ‘Solar 1’ project, which will see several hundred square metres of solar panels installed on the roofs of residential buildings within the Loughborough Estate, will be 100% community owned, give investors a share of the profits the scheme generates and reduce the carbon footprint of Brixton over its 25 year life span.
The share offer will help raise the capital cost of £75,000 needed for the solar PV installation on the roof of Elmore House on the Loughborough Estate.
